Plus a free chamber concert in Springville, $5 Tuesday admission in Lehi, and a Saturday matinee at The Ruth.
Good morning, Happy Valley.

Friday or Saturday Float a lantern on Utah Lake Friday or Saturday
Utah Lantern Festival opens the Provo Marina grounds for afternoon games, face painting and live performances before everyone launches floating lanterns around sunset. Each general-admission ticket includes one festival bag with a lantern, lighter and marker.
Our take
Choose Friday for the lower checked price. Arrive before 6:30pm so you can park, complete check-in and write on your lantern before the launch.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: Check-in closes at 7:30pm. Every attendee must complete the liability waiver, and all ticket sales are final.

Our take
Arrive at 6:15pm for the full program. The museum stays open until 8pm Wednesday, which leaves time to walk the galleries after the concert.

$5 Tuesday Pick one Thanksgiving Point venue for $5 Tuesday
Thanksgiving Point cuts admission to $5 per person at seven venues Tuesday. The list includes Butterfly Biosphere, Curiosity Farms, the Museum of Ancient Life, the Museum of Natural Curiosity, Ashton Gardens, Canopy Tours and Jurassic Jungle.
Our take
Choose one venue before you leave home and buy that venue's ticket. Butterfly Biosphere and the dinosaur museum work indoors; Ashton Gardens is the outdoor choice.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: The $5 ticket covers one venue, not all seven. Check the selected venue's hours before you drive over.

ASL matinee See Pride and Prejudice with ASL woven into the show
The Ruth's production casts Deaf actress Anne Post Fife as Mrs. Bennet, who performs in American Sign Language while cast members voice her dialogue. Saturday's 4pm matinee also has ASL interpreters and runs two hours and 40 minutes including intermission.
Our take
Choose the Saturday matinee if you want the listed interpreted performance. Buy seats together because prices change by section and availability.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: Children age 3 and younger are not admitted. The production uses gunshot sound effects, haze and theatrical lighting.

โ ๏ธ Heads up: The performance is at the Marriott Center, not the BYU Dance Performance Theatre.

Guayoyo Cafรฉ fills its baked empanadas with Venezuelan combinations. La Tradicional has ground beef, onion, peppers, hard-boiled egg and olives; La Exquisita pairs goat cheese with mushrooms.
Our take
Order La Tradicional and La Exquisita so you can split one meat filling and one vegetarian filling. Add Venezuelan coffee if you go before lunch.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: The cafรฉ closes at 5pm Tuesday through Saturday, so this works for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon stop rather than dinner.
